Painted from life on a cold February morning in the beautiful Torrs Gorge, which runs through the Derbyshire town of New Mills. The rich colours - blues, oranges and dusky pinks - of the cliffs always attract my attention on walks through the gorge, and the light on this particular day was too good not to pause and capture. Final details were completed in the studio, and the piece is finished and ready to hang with a generous St Ives frame.
